For this project, my team created a concept for an interactive prompt that celebrates advocacy and inspires people to make a change in their local communities. We drew inspiration for this park from Passion Works, an art studio in Athens, OH that employs artists of all abilities. This park features a 20 foot tall structure shaped like a Passion Works passion flower and a playspace for all ages.
Create an iconic installation on your campus or city that serves as an inspiration, honors the past, and is a vision of the future. It can be architectural, ornamental, static, active, whatever your team feels is the best way to represent your unique chosen location. It can be intimate or grandiose, but it should always be appropriate for the location selected. In telling the very unique story of your chosen spot, it should respect and integrate local traditions and geography. Your icon should be a place to gather and celebrate, as well as reflect and educate the community. A concept that will go down in history as symbolic of your campus or city.

Passion Park is inspired by Passion Works because it encompasses the qualities of the many service and advocacy organizations integral to the Athens community. For this reason, the Passion Flower is the perfect representation of celebrating advocacy and service in the Athens community.
Elements come together create a space to explore, reflect, and recharge, uniting the entire community in a space that celebrates not only each other, but the place they call home.
At Passion Park, our purpose is twofold: celebrate the work of local advocacy groups and inspire people of all ages and abilities to make a change in their local communities.
