From May – August 2018, I worked at McGraw-Hill Education as their Marketing Design Intern. During my time with McGraw-Hill Education, I completed marketing design requests for both internal and external use by creating branded templates, social media graphics, advertisements, icons, brochures and animated motion graphics.
Below is a selection of the work I did at McGraw-Hill Education.
I designed this white paper, Fostering Visual Literacy in the X-Box Generation, using McGraw-Hill Education’s new brand guidelines and style.
I created a social media graphic to be posted on the McGraw-Hill Education Instagram account for Summer Learning Day. I also created an animated version of the graphic to be posted on Twitter. I created the illustration in Illustrator and animated it in After Effects.
View on Instagram View on TwitterWhile the ISTE conference was going on, McGraw-Hill Education hosted a twitter chat for people who were not attending ISTE to get involved in the experience. I created this graphic to accompany the tweet that announced the #NotAtISTE twitter chat.
This graphic was posted on the McGraw-Hill Education Twitter and Medium blog. It was also sent out in a company-wide daily news briefing.
I designed this cover for an Adaptive Learning Brochure that focused on using adaptive learning technology to unlock the potential of every learner. The circuitry and icons on the cover design reflect the look and feel of the ISTE conference booth that the brochure was sent out for.
I created a series of three Facebook Ads for the Eleventh Edition of Zoology by Stephen A. Miller and Todd A. Tupper. To create these ads, I did photo research using the McGraw-Hill Education Digital Asset Library to find images that matched the look and feel of the cover of the book. I then edited the photos so that the colors matched the colors of the book cover and added the book title and author information.
I designed the ILA Lead Form to be displayed as a welcome message on iPad screens at the McGraw-Hill Education booth at the ILA conference. The design reflects the look and feel of the conceptual theme that was used for the McGraw-Hill Education ILA booth and its accompanying marketing materials.
During my internship at McGraw-Hill Education, I was also able to help out with a school supply drive for Volunteers of America.
These whiteboard prompts were created to get people involved in the school supply drive that we had for Volunteers of America’s Operation Backpack. We kept the whiteboard with the weekly question next to the collection boxes. Every week, I updated the whiteboard with a new question to get people engaged and thinking about the drive.
To create the designs on the whiteboard, I designed them with Illustrator and then projected them on the whiteboard and traced them onto the board.
In total, we were able to donate 48 backpacks, most of which we were able to stuff full of the required supplies, and the remainder of the supplies we delivered for the VOA to fill backpacks as they collect more donations from across the city.
